Transportation to Olympics Football Match in Marseille

Help! We are trying to figure out transportation from Cassis to Marseille stadium to attend a Football match during the 2024 Summer Olympics, which kicks off pretty late, at 9:00 PM. We will have our 9 year old child with us so safety is incredibly important.
We have a rental vehicle however I’ve read that parking can be difficult on game days, and the “park and rides” stations are reserved for residents, (or I think a frequent traveler pass is required). We’ve considered the train, but it may not be the safest option coming back late at night. Never used Uber but worry that it might be unreliable. Are there any other options?
We really want to attend this once in a lifetime opportunity to go to the Olympics in France, but unsure of the best way to get there. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Merci ☺️

They really mean for everyone to take public transport almost everywhere to do with all Olympics venues.

The page for the Marseille stadium events has yet to be updated, but it too speaks of the public transportation plans that will be made available.

I don’t know if they will keep things running late enough for fans to make it all the way back to Cassis the night of the match (probably so), but hopefully you will be able to find the right information.

I would bet a million dollars that there isn’t any parking at the stadium for the Olympics. It really seems that they should be providing information soon for attendees.

This is pure speculation because daytime buses exist between Cassis and Montpellier: I wonder if there could be any dedicated buses for fans from Cassis.

I know for Bordeaux they are encouraging people to take the trams, busses or bike. There will be one designated shuttle area (by Cité du Vin) but, at least for now, there are no extra trains in to Bordeaux from the neighboring towns. The park and rides by us are quite small and hard to get in to even on a random day. We plan to do street parking in a suburb that is served by the tram system. Perhaps that's an idea for you in Marseille?

We are in a bit of the same boat. We are staying in Arles with a car and have tickets to the USA-NZ game on July 27. The only train that works for the return is so late, but I am thinking we would be crazy to drive. My current plan is to ask our hotelier in Arles what she thinks and just take her recommendation, but now I am wondering if I should go ahead and secure train tickets. The train from Marseilles to Arles looks like a regional train so not sure if I have to book early or can make a gameday decision?
