I will be traveling with my mom, aunt, and uncle to Paris. We are planning to attend the Candlelight evening at Chateau Vaux Le Vicomte on June 14th (already have tickets). We would also like to visit Fontainbleau. Would this be a doable day trip with spending the evening at Vaux Le Vicomte? Or - would these be better split apart? Either way, are there any suggestions for transportation? Thank you!

Vaux Le Vicomte is one of my most favorite places. Was there at Xmas and it was magical. Will be in Paris in a few weeks and will go back there again. Go to the website as the Chateau has a bus service and a regular schedule.
Fontainebleau has frequent suburban trains from Gare de Lyon in Paris, no advance booking required, no reserve seats. There are buses from the Fontainebleau Avon station into the centre of town if you don't want to walk.
