We purchased a Global Rail Pass from Nov 25th to Dec 8th. Primarily were going to travel in France. We have learned there will be an all transportation strike including motorways. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of what to expect? We are hugely disappointed. This will be our first trip to Europe at the age of 55 and 62! Didn't need the stress this has caused in our planning, but such is life!

Donna, I will just say that you are “lucky” that your trip ends Dec 8 — that is, that the bulk of your trip will be done by the time Dec 5 arrives.
I don’t know what your original plans were, but I would make sure to be back in Paris on December 4th and be there your last few days rather than trying to get back to there otherwise.
