transportation help

I'm traveling from Paris to Bayonne on June 10, by train, but need to get to St. Jean-Pied-de-Port after arriving in Bayonne. The train is no longer in service. I've been told I can take a taxi, but are there any other options? If so, what are they? Do I need to make a reservation and does anyone know how much the other options will cost?

Thanks,
Tobi from Oregon

When I go to http://en.voyages-sncf.com/, I get two connections on June 10 leaving Paris Montparnasse at 7:22, and at 12:23. The early connection has a Prems fare of 34.10 euro. Change trains at Bayonne and Cambo Les Bains.

DB train schedules reflect the same info, as they usually do. The last connection is by bus, meeting the trains 4x/day at Cambo les Bains. I expect that tickets can be purchased through SNCF ticket offices in France or right on the bus. US agents might not be able to sell it. It does not require a reservation.

Thanks, I realize the train tracks are down and I need to take a bus from Bayonne. I've tried using SNCF to purchase the ticket, but no such luck. Since it's not a train ticket it doesn't let me buy it. I guess I'll have to break down and call them. Thanks for your help.
