Transportation from Nice to Ventimiglia

I am working on plans for our June visit to Europe. We will be staying in Avignon or Arles for 4 nights and from there our plan is to head to Genoa, Italy. We typically do not rent a car, but rely on trains for transportation in Europe. Rome2Rio shows a train from Avignon to Nice and a train from Ventimiglia to Genoa. It appears it is necessary to go by car between Nice and Ventimiglia. Perhaps someone has taken this route and might know if there is ride share company (Uber or Lyft type service) in this area. If you have experience driving this how challenging would that be for a novice European driver?

That is why you do not use Rome2Rio. Incomplete and misleading information
There are frequent trains between Nice and Ventimiglia. I was just there and saw trains to Ventimiglia on the departure board at Nice station.

There is direct train service between Nice and Ventimiglia/Ventmille about 2x per hour. It is a TER and it is just too early to see the routes, more than likely (90 days). (The train service was recently bumped up to 4x per hour along the route, but only 2 go to ventimiglia, the others only to Menton) They were supposed to add new lines directly connecting from Nice by Trenitalia (no change required) but it appears negotiations/planning are causing us to wait longer.

Thanks Sam. I find Rome2Rio helpful in a general way to establish possibilities and distances. Thanks for the reminder to look beyond that for more specific information. I am very happy to hear train travel between those two locations is possible. It will greatly simplify our plan.
