Transportation from Lyon airport to Hotel Celestins

We fly from Cinci (leave around 5 pm) to DeGaulle, few hours layover, then on to Lyon airport. I have looked at transportation options. Carry on luggage only. Arrive in Lyon around 2 pm. France time. I imagine we will be pretty tired. While I know the tram and metro are an option, I am wondering if a taxi would be “easier” and worth the cab fare this time (save our pennies elsewhere). Any perspectives from those who’ve made the trip.

Hello Sheila,
I rarely use Uber in France but read somewhere that the pricing is better than taxi in Lyon.

My driver was very patient and helped me find him by phone after I went out the wrong door of the terminal.
He told me about the area and we had a nice conversation during the drive.
The cost was about 45 euro.
Enjoy Lyon.

Take Uber.

Last year I took Uber from Hotel Celestins to the airport, I think it was like 20 euros.

Edit: I just checked, it was 33 euros, still worth it.

We were there in April and used a taxi. Not remembering price…but worked out well.
