I know the taxi fare from CdG to the Left Bank in Paris is a flat fee of €65, but is the cost to return to CdG from the Left Bank similar, or simply metered? If the latter, what fee might I expect to pay? (And yes, I’m aware of RERB as an option.) Thank you!
It's the same flat rate. IF you book ahead, like on the G7 app, they add a booking charge of 7E. To me it's less anxiety producing to book the return taxi about 2 days ahead thru the app.
Great advice, thank you!
Another vote for the G7 taxi app and booking a day or two ahead to go to CDG. My taxi arrived about 5 minutes early.
Excellent. Thank you.
Another G7 fan - I used it less than 3 weeks ago and everything exceeded expectations.
I scheduled two days ahead of time; then Delta changed my flight departure time twice, including the morning of the 12:30pm departure. Consequently, I changed the taxi pick up time twice - with no problems at all.
The taxi was clean and arrived a few minutes early. It was raining and the driver “umbrella escorted” my daughter and me to the car and handled our bags with care—both loading and unloading. The driver was extremely polite and a good driver.
We were on the left bank and I would not hesitate to use the app/service again; especially for departure flights. The G7 app did add a few euro fee, but it was worth it to me to schedule (and reschedule, and reschedule) the cab.
I will note that when we arrived at CDG we simply walked straight up to the taxi queue. The prices are posted in the cab and you can ask to confirm.
What a great experience! The details also help. G7 it is!
Consider Welcome Pickups. I used them coming and going from CDG and they were wonderful.
Here’s another vote for the G7 taxi. I used it about a month ago to take me and my two grandkids from the Left Bank to CDG. I requested that it come at 7 AM and it was actually there 10 minutes early. The driver was very polite, and we were at the airport in no time. I would not hesitate to use it again.
If you're staying at a hotel, try asking the desk if they can order ahead for the ride back to CDG -- there might not be any supplements/surcharges in that case.
That’s a nice tip, thanks!
And thank you to everyone who has responded to me.
I believe the reservation charge of 7 euros applies whether your hotel books for you or not. If they just call a taxi for you for right away, there would be no extra fee because it is not a prearranged ride. Please don't wait until the day before or the same day you need a taxi to make arrangements. Reserve a couple days before to assure availability of a taxi for the trip to the airport. The peace of mind is worth 7 euros. So.... left bank to CDG is 65 euros plus 7 euros. The taxi will be there about 5 minutes early, so be ready and waiting. (Not every taxi is going to be one for the airport. It isn't like New York City.)
Thank you for this good advice!

This isn't correct. The reservation fee for a G7 taxi that you call and ask for to come right away is 4€.
(As opposed to 7€ if you call/reserve a day or two ahead).
Thanks for the clarification, Kim. Always something new to learn. The last time I took a taxi in Paris (June 2023) we luckily got one at a taxi rank by the Breizh Cafe in St. Germain. So I am not exactly up to date.
I'm curious.
Can someone explain the appeal of booking with Welcome Pickups? I know they are touted by Les Frenchies website and their Facebook followers. But, from what I can see, they charge about an additional €20 per trip to/from CDG compared to a regular taxi service like G7. I don't get it. Thanks.
In my experience, booking Welcome Pickups depends on the situation in the arrival city. I booked them twice in cities with no flat fees for taxis (like Paris) plus reports of taxis ripping off tourists.
That said, I’ve been annoyed by Welcome Pickups drivers who either don’t meet me at the designated pickup space in the terminal (making me look for them elsewhere) or who have texted me that they might not be able to wait for me because they have another fare scheduled. In the latter case, it was clearly a violation of the guidelines drivers are expected to follow. A generous wait time is built into the guidelines. My plane was on time. The guy did wait for me, but it created anxiety. I had booked them to avoid anxiety!

Indeed, if you take a taxi from a taxi rank, there is no prebooking fee.

I don't get it either. I could understand if Paris had a system where taxis use the meter - in that case you risk a situation where you get stuck in traffic and the price quickly spirals. But with the fixed-rate scheme that the government imposes, it really does not make any sense to me to pay additional money.
The Frenchies must be making money for their efforts, but why people want to spend unnecessary additional money is beyond me.
Kim, thanks. I figured that Les Frenchies were supporting themselves with their endorsements. But, like you, I don't understand all the folks willing to throw away money. Maybe Welcome Pickups throws in a glass of champagne for the ride.
