What is the best way to get from CDG to Gare Montparnasse that doesn't involve the Metro or buses? We had a bad experience on the Metro on our last trip when we had our suitcases, etc, with us and were obviously tourists.
Thank you,
Jerry
Fixed rate taxi from CDG to Left Bank Paris locations is 61 EUR (from memory, maybe +/- a couple EUR).
Take a taxi? It should cost between 60-80€ according to Rome2Rio. Be sure you follow the signs to the terminal to the official Taxi stand.
We are planning on taking the RER from CDG to Denfert-Rochereau enroute to Gare Montparnasse. Taxi or walking will get you from there to Montparnasse although you could take a short Metro ride on Ligne 4 or 6. You could also book a private transfer or taxi all the way from CDG, as others have suggested but traffic is a factor if you have a train to catch!
The new fixed rate for a taxi (as of February 1) from CDG to Montparnasse is €62 for up for four people and their luggage.
Another example of why google and crappy sites like Rome to Rio are not to be relied on -- travel from CDG by taxi is not 'about this or that' or 'between this and that' -- it is a fixed fare and has been for a very long time.
Thanks to all for your helpful responses!
I just responded to another similar request on the Forum. I took (10 Feb 23 pre a R Steves Best of Paris) a taxi from CDG to Gare Montparnasse. 65 EUR I paid as I didn't want the public transport w/luggage hassle. then I trained to Chartres. ab
