Hi, We are two seniors who are planning a trip to France in Spring 2026. We will be in Norma day for 5 days then Amboise for 3 days. Need to get from Amboise to Paris ( we are staying in the 7th) for our last 3 days. Is the train a suitable option for us? My husband is able to walk but not great distances. Thank you!
Unless you are completely unable to do stairs of any kind, the train is a good option as long as you can manage your own luggage on and off the train.
How are you getting from Paris to Normandie, and from Normandie to Amboise? Unless you have a rental car, then a train from Amboise would be the fastest choice. Most trains will have a connection at St Pierre des Corps.
Thank you for the information about the train. We have a car and driver Paris to Normandie and on to Amboise. I was debating about whether to continue with that option into Paris or to take the train. I appreciate the information!
The train is good. At Amboise there are elevators to get a Nader the track, and Paris Austerlitz is ground level.
You can catch a train direct to Paris, it takes longer than taking the train to Saint Pierre des Corps and changing to the TGV until you factor in the change.
So good to know that we can take one train with no change to Paris. I will look carefully at that option - thank you!
