Transportation from airport to 3E in Paris - Olympic sites to see in Paris

Hello,

We are flying into Charles de Gaulle airport and staying in the Marais area in 3E. What are good options to get from the airport to where we are staying.

Also, are there any good sites left from the 2024 Summer Olympics that are worth seeing?

Thanks for your help!

John

I recommend using an official Paris taxi available at the taxi line outside the airport. It’s a fixed price of €56 to the Marais area/Right Bank. Much easier with luggage and they take you directly to your hotel. Ignore the people in the airport offering taxi services; they are not official taxi drivers.

When I read the title of the thread, I thought there must some some new hotel in Paris called the 3E. Then from the post I realized the OP was referring to the 3rd arrondissement. To avoid confusion, OP, either use the full English term, or the French troisieme arrondisement (abbreviated (eng) 3rd arr, or (fr) IIIe arr).

A taxi from the official taxi queue at the airport is the easiest way to get service to your hotel door. Otherwise you would need to take the RER train to Châtelet-Les Halles and then walk or taxi to the hotel.

Wow - Thank you both for the very quick reply!

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that four people are traveling together with luggage. Is that 56 euro per person or would it be 56 euro for all four with luggage?

Thank you!

56 euro for all four of you, and your luggage. A great deal!

P.S. Where did you get the references 3E? Never heard or read of E being used for arrondisement. Just curious if that is from a language other than English.

I was at the Olympics in Paris and went to many of the venues. Quite a few were temporary and are gone but there are some of the classic backdrops where those temporary stands were set up that would still be there. Places like the Grand Palais (fencing); Invalides (archery), Eiffel Tower (Beach Volleyball); Place de Concorde (3x3 basketball, skateboarding) and the Tulieries Garden (Olympic Flame Cauldron); Pont Alexander Bridge (Triathlon); and Versailles (Equestrian). Some of the permanent venues might still have the Olympic rings on them to see would be La Defense (swimming); Bercy Arena (Gymnastics) and Stade de France (Athletics).

Indeed, it's not from English, it's from French. The "e" here doesn't represent "arrondissement;" it's an abbreviation representing the ordinal part of "3rd." Usually written troisième or 3eme and sometimes abbreviated to 3e.

Ah! Merci, Kim Of course now that I see the lower case "e" it makes sense. The upper case "E" threw me. Je comprends "3e".
