Transportation from airport

I am trying to decide what is the best way to get from CDA to downtown Paris, the Marais area? We arrive around 7:00 AM on a Monday morning.

What is CDA? Do you mean CDG the Airport? Your options if from CDG would be an official taxi, from the official taxi stand and not from someone walking up to you, which has a set price. There is also the RER-B or a car service which would cost more than the taxi. For me it depends, I either take a taxi or the RER-B train from within Terminal 2, but I have been to Paris many times and am comfortable with traveling by RER.

Enjoy your trip.

Thank you. Yes I meant CDG. Do you know whether an Uber is significantly cheaper than a taxi or should we stick with a taxi if we don’t want to deal with the RER.

Taxis are a fixed rate for either the left bank or right bank. They can travel in the bus lanes. Uber cannot, so they can get stuck in traffic more easily. They have surge pricing, so you could pay more or less. Put "Uber" or Bolt" in the search bar for comments. From what I have read on the forum I think you will find that the Uber or Bolt are less reliable than taxis. Definitely use a taxi if you are not comfortable with the RER (train) after a long flight. It is well worth the cost of 56 euros to the right bank or 65euros to the left bank. That is for up to 4 people with their luggage. You walk up to the official taxi line. There will be a line of taxis waiting. I doubt if an Uber or Bolt will be much cheaper, but I could be wrong. To me, the peace of mind of a taxi is worth the fixed price.

Uber might be cheaper and it might not be. Also, you may have difficulty finding your driver at CDG. I’d take a taxi.

Uber is not reliable or professional in Paris. Use the official taxi line (follow signs/blue dots) to the quick moving line and get your fixed rate ride from CDG to your hotel. Don’t be distracted by anyone elsewhere trying to get you to ride with them. Only use the official line.

Other than from the airport use the G7 official Paris taxi app to get a taxi within the city. App is user friendly (similar to Uber app) but actually professional driver and nice car.

Taxis are a flat rate and can use the bus lanes so you don’t sit in traffic long.

Just ignore the lure of Uber. It’s not going to be cheaper and it’s also going to be slower. And you better know your way around Paris because your Uber driver probably won’t.
