Transportation between Nice airport and Menton

Bonjour! My husband and I will be based in Menton for the Lemon Festival and Nice Carnaval. We're arriving at the Nice airport and I've just been reading about the expensive and unscrupulous taxi drivers. We're in our 70s and will have luggage, and are reluctant to start dragging bags around on buses and trains. Any suggestions? Thanks very much.

That's a tough one because it is quite a distance to the airport from Menton, about 100€ for a car service. You can pre-order a car and driver.

I've made the trip many times but either family picks me up or I take the local train and am picked up at the station. In your case, a car service is best.

Edit: My family does have a regular driver they use who they met through the car services. I would urge you in this situation with luggage for a length of time to have a car service driver waiting and taking you door to door. The train will be handy once you are settled in.

My 75 old friend stays in Nice regularly. She says she uses Uber a lot, to get to other towns and has had good luck with them. Maybe consider packing lighter and then train will not be such a hassle. She also uses the train frequently travel along the coast.

Would have to agree with the previous poster and encourage you to pack lighter. The trains all along the coast are a great way to get around.
