Transportation between NIC (Nice Airport) and Cannes

What would be the best and cheapest rate?

There is a train station just outside the airport (but on the wrong side of the major highway. There is a marked route.

The half hourly all stops train from Menton via Monaco and Nice Ville stops there on the way to Cannes where it concludes its journey.

Thanks so much for your replies.

Do you take a taxi to the other side of the highway to the train station or is there a bridge to walk over the highway?

🌞 Alway good to know Airport codes. Thanks

You can walk, or there is a bus. A taxi won't want such a short fare after queuing for fares for hours at the airport.

Look on Google Maps

The tram is now open at the airport at both Terminals and you can take it to the first stop (Grand Arenas) and take the much shorter, and well marked walk to the St. Augustine station. This first stop is currently free.

There are express buses as well -- Bus 210 (and N200 night bus)

Thanks Gooster - last time I looked there was only 1 tram.

Do you know if the tram to the airport has longer hours than the city buses in Nice? We used to have to walk in the evenings because the city buses shut down so very early - one of the reasons we stopped staying the night in Nice and moved further along the coast towards Monaco.

Thanks you all for the good advice. I have a copy of the map. Will take the airport shuttle to Stop 2 and the path to train station. It looks like a $90. savings. Do you think it is necessary to buy a ticket in advance?

It is a regional train (PACA) and the price doesn't change. If you want to get it ahead you can but it won't save any money.

$90 savings over what? The €3 to take the airport bus to Nice Ville? I don't understand what you are saving money over.

Nigel: Line 2 opened to the Airport in December. In June, it will extend all the way to the center (Place Massena) and in the fall, to the Port. Right now, it only runs until 9pm. However, Line 1 already runs until 1:30 am, so I am thinking the hours will expand once it comes into full operation. They also plan to increase the frequency (which is the big advantage over the buses). Bus 98 now costs 6E and runs until midnight.

1212kate -- the tram operates as a free shuttle between the terminals and the St. Augustine Gare. I think a lot of maps and online sites have not updated their info, although the airport web page explains the new option. Just make sure you get on in the Magnan direction.
