Transportation - Avignon to Lacoste

My 21-year-old son is spending a long weekend in Lacoste. He's traveling from Paris to Avignon via TGV. Renting a car is proving to be very expensive due to his age and the need for an automatic. So the question is how to get from Avignon to Lacoste? Does anyone know if there is bus service? How much would a cab be? Is there anything like a Zip Car in Avignon? Accommodations and train ticket are already set so he can't cancel and start over. Mom is trying to help! Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Rome2Rio can be useful resource in situations like this, when you don't even know what type of transportation may be available. Alas, you cannot trust its travel times, frequencies, or fares, but if you keep drilling down you will find the name of the train or bus company providing the service, and there is usually a link to the company's website. With luck, accurate schedules will be found there (though sometimes you won't find an English-language option).

In this case, Rome2Rio reveals that there is bus service. It is apparently infrequent, and a transfer seems to be required, but at least the two legs are operated by the same company.

Unfortunately, Rome2Rio lets us down here by including a web link that doesn't work. Try one of these two. If still no luck, resort to Google.

CheckMyBus

Voyages Arnaud -- seems to operate the buses.

Day of the week can be critical, so be sure your son pays attention to headers and footnotes on the schedule. No sense waiting for a weekday bus if he's traveling on a Sunday or holiday.

The nearest rail station to the destination appears to be Cavaillon, which is about 14 miles short of the target, per Rome2Rio. So your son would be paying for 30 miles if he took a taxi on that last leg. I have no idea whether Rome2Rio's estimate of $50 to $65 is reasonable for that trip.

Is this Lacoste in the Luberon? More specifics would help as I kept turning up locations of Lacoste shirt shops. Maybe suggest that Junior check Google Maps and see what comes up when he clicks the Bus icon.

Yes, Lacoste in the Luberon. Thanks for the Rome2Rio suggestion - I had forgotten about that although he says he went through that exercise last week. These are first world problems!
