We (2 adults + 13yo+9yo) will be staying at Nice on the 6th of July and like to visit Musee Matisse, Villa Ehphrussi de Rothschild and possibly Monaco, is it easier to use taxi or should we rent a car considering we will be heading to Provence from Nice? If rental car, any complication in regards to parking?
Ask the concierge at your hotel to help hire a car and driver for a day to go to the Villa and Monaco.
The Matisse museum you can do yourself, an easy bus or taxi ride.
The parking in Nice is miserable and at that time of year it is nearly impossible , Your best bet is to use rail to get to Monaco and Cap Ferrat . Bus service easily gets you to the Matisse Museum . Rent your car when you leave for Provence
Taxi would be more convenient as a family imo. Altho public transit is avail. Be aware sunday public bus transit can be sparse. PRovence def get acar rental when u are ready to,leave Nice area. A car in Nice is not advised due to lack of parking and congestion. I always walk in Nice,
I used the bus to get to both Villa Ephrussi and Monaco. It was very inexpensive and quite simple.
very easy to get to Monaco by train or bus - different scenery. The Rothschild Villa is very easy by bus from the train station along the way, it drops you right at the door.
Don't drive at that time of the year there.
Thank you all, you guys are amazing!
