Transport from CDG to Paris

Hi again all - I asked this same question for transport from FCO to Rome and received helpful and encouraging responses. Thank you all! 🙏🏼

We’re also going to France in June and are looking for recommendations for affordable private car transport from CDG to Paris. Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Hi - I am afraid I don't have any advice on car services - since taxi fares between the airport and the city are a fixed rate for up to four people and their luggage, if I am not taking the RER, I always use a taxi or Bolt. I haven't used a car service or shuttle since they instituted the fixed rates.

What Kim says. A private car service isn't necessary. Go to the official taxi line (ignore anyone who approaches you). A taxi for up to four people with luggage is a fixed rate, 56 euros to the right bank, 65 euros to the left bank. If the line there seems long, don't despair. It moves quickly. A search of this forum will turn up multiple discussions on this topic.

For transportation from CDG into Paris, consider:

1 - Taxis Parisiens from the official taxi stand. Do not accept offers from clandestine drivers soliciting from within the terminals. Taxi fares are fixed at 56€/65€ to the Right/Left Bank respectively (for up to 4 passengers and luggage). There is a 5.50€ supplement for each additional passenger from 5 to 7. Drivers are not tipped and accept Visa/MC.

I recommend official taxis as they have access to special routes/drop off points, HOV lanes, and bus lanes that VTCs (Uber, Bolt, Freenow, private car) do not. Taxis do not have surge pricing. Hand the driver your written destination. There is no charge for luggage.

2 - Train - RER B from either terminal 2 or Roissypôle. Includes any required connection to reach any RER/métro station - 14€. Follow the numerous signs ¨Trains to Paris". Fare includes any métro/RER/Transilien train connection required to reach your destination. Keep your ticket until exiting the transportation network.
