There is to be a transit strike in Paris on Thurs, November 10. Limited running of RER B. Almost no trains on the other lines, except for rush hours.
Here are a few more details:
Line 1 and 14, which are automated, should run ok.
These lines will be completely closed, won't run at all: 2, 3bis, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12
These lines will only have some stations open, and even those stations that are open will only be open during rush hours: 3, 4, 6, 7, 7bis, 9, 13
RER A: only 1 out of regular 2 trains running during rush hours; during other hours, only 1 out of 3 will be running.
RER B: during rush hours, 1 train out of 2. During other hours, 1 train out of 3. No interconnection at Gare du Nord.
Bus service will also be disrupted; RATP will make specific service projections this evening after 5 pm.
Avoid public transport if you can tomorrow ! (Note that the strike actually starts at 10 pm tonight and runs through 7 am Friday)
And some rooms in museums could be closed due to personnel having difficulty getting to work. If you have a museum reservation, you won’t have a problem getting in. Getting a walk-up ticket could be more difficult due to lack of personnel.
Everyone will get their 10,000 steps tomorrow.
In addition, while Line 1 will run, the following stations on line 1 will NOT be open:
Reuilly-Diderot
Bastille
Hôtel de Ville
Concorde
Champs-Elysées Clemenceau
Thanks to all of you! What a mess this will be!
Bumping up since this is now ongoing !
