Transfer from Geneva to Annecy France

We are coming by train from Luzern to Geneva and need to get to Annecy, France. I know we could take a bus or train, but they both sound long and complicated. Do you think we can just get a taxi either outside the train station or at the airport? Also if we are taking the train is it better to go to the airport or the city center? Does anyone know of reliable private transportation?
Thanks

Well, you can do it, but according to this little Rome2rio search I did, it will cost you dearly. It looks like the difference between 17 Eur for the most expensive bus vs. 180 Eur for the most expensive taxi.

A train option is not listed, perhaps because of the complications you mention. All 3 of the bus options seem to be fairly quick (1 hour and 15 minutes) with no bus changes. The route from the airport is very similar to the one shown for the taxi option.

Of course the taxi is shown as only about 30 minutes, but you have to think about possible traffic delays and ask yourself if the potentially shorter time is worth the significantly larger price.

However you get there, Annecy is beautiful.

Go to www.sbb.ch to see your options. Best connections are by train going Luzern to Geneva to Aix-les-Bains to Annecy in a little over 5 hours.

We did bus from Geneva to Annecy. Very easy, about 1 hour, reasonably priced (maybe $20? It was 6 years ago so I don't really remember) and convenient. Direct route.

We've taken the bus between Geneva and Annecy, both ways, several times. It's cheap, easy and convenient. It can be slow if you don't take one of the express buses, though.
