Transfer from CDG to St Lazare Train Station

What would be the quickest way to get from the airport to the train station? Is there a direct metro between the two?
What should I expect to pay? What would taxi cost? Are there shuttle services for this route? Our plane would arrive about 7:45 so I'm looking at train schedules after 12:00. 2 persons traveling with only carry-on, Thanks.

There is no direct public transport service from CDG to Saint Lazare. However, there are two obvious scheduled options.

First, take the RER Line B train from CDG to Gare du Nord, and walk a very short distance to Magenta station on Line E. From there, you can get a train one stop to St Lazare. The single fare is 9.75 Euro.

Your second option is to take the Roissybus express bus service which runs non-stop from CDG to the Paris Opera house. From the opera house it is only a short walk to St Lazare, no problem if you only have carry-on luggage. The fare is 8.40 Euros.

(ETA: I assume you're talking about 12:00 midday, if you're arriving at midnight I would get a taxi.)

Assuming you are arriving 07:45 Monday through Friday, I would not use a taxi. We did the same CDG--Gare St. Lazare transfer on a Monday morning in 2013 by taxi, and it took about two hours and about €80 due to the rush-hour traffic that was nothing if not impressive--and I live in Southern California.

Take the RER to Gare du Nord. Exit the station on the east side and take the 43 city bus. if you have lot of baggage or children this would be a bit difficult. consider taking a taxi or Paris Shuttle Service Total journey time will be abut 45 minutes.

If you book a shuttle service, you usually have to specify a pick up time, which isn't so easy as you fly into town (works better on the way out). I'd aim for one of the public transport routes described in earlier comments.

If you take the Roissybus, which someone suggested, it's about a seven minute walk to the Gare St. Lazare when you get off the bus. Turn right as you get off the bus and walk straight a few feet. You are at Blvd. Haussmann where the Galeries Lafayette and Printemp department stores are. Turn left and walk on Blvd. Haussmann until you reach the last building of the Printemps store. Turn right. The Gare St. Lazare is directly ahead of you, only one or two blocks.
