Hi,
Can someone please recommend an efficient, safe and economical transfer service from the CDG airport to Paris city center? We are 2 ladies, traveling alone. Our arrival time in Paris is 9:45 am on Sept. 14, 2019. I would imagine an hour or so for customs and luggage pick up.

Take a taxi from the official line-up. Fixed price 50 euros right bank, 55 euros left bank. Ignore any attempt to offer rides from strays in the terminal lobby. There is rapid transit via the RER suburban rail, hooking into the Metro subway system. It's cheaper and possibly just as fast, but more stressful. Research here for rapid transit:

Hint: "Customs" is declaring anything special you are carrying. Usually there is a green door for "nothing to declare" that you simply walk through. A spot check is always a possibility but uncommon. Immigration and border control take the time and there is no way to estimate, even day by day, how long it will take. Same can be said for the efficiency of the luggage retrieval. Getting out of CdG in anything under an hour could be considered speedy.
To orient yourself at CdG, search for a site called Easy Charles de Gaulle.
Just take a taxi. The fixed fare is €50-55 from CDG to city center. So worth it after a long flight. Just make sure you go to the taxi stand. Don’t go with anyone that walks up to you when you exit the door as you may be scammed.
I was one lady (well I'm still a lady!) traveling alone to Paris 4 1/2 months ago. I took the RER B commuter rail into Paris. Beyond easy and very comfortable.

Customs is a walk through. Passport control which you did not mention is a toss up depending upon how many flights arrived ahead of yours, whether the two of you are among the first off the flight, how many immigration agents are working, and how long the walk is between the aircraft door and passport control. My luggage arrived on the carousel within 10 minutes after going through passport control.
