Does anyone know if the Tram (I think it's Tram 2?) from the Nice airport to the city center has opened yet, or when it is scheduled to open?
We will be in Nice in September.

Yes, according to press reports, it opened on Friday.

The tram Line 2 is in operation to the center. It ends at Jean Medecin where you can connect to Line 1, if needed (the extension to the Port will not be completed until the end of the year). It is 1.50E (or 1E in a multipass of 10). The airport express buses have now been suspended, it appears, except for the times when the tram is not running, then one runs the route of the original bus 98 along the Promenade.

Roseanne, I was going to post the exact same question as we will also be flying into Nice in early September and we are trying to figure out if we can take public transportation to our hotel in Villefranche-sur-Mer or should take a taxi. If any posters can add further info as to how easy it would be to get to Villefranche using this and transferring to a train to get the rest of the way with luggage, I would appreciate! And Rosanne, you probably will too!
We travel light, our checked bags are actually a carry on size that rolls and we fit our other bags that we do take on the plane on the handles. So we have walked as far as 15 minutes from the train station to our hotel or wherever on other trips.
