Trains/RER/Metro in Paris

I have been to Paris before, and pretty comfortable using the train systems. But it's been awhile, and I want to be sure I understand. My plan is to go from Gare du Nord (via Eurostar) to my hotel, then around Paris, then out to Chateau du Vincennes, and to CDG airport over 4 days or so.

I think I need to get a carnet ....for trips around Paris. But I heard of a T+ ticket ?? not sure what that is.
I need to get to CDG....I'm thinking of using RoissyBus or the RER. Not sure if the T+ covers the RER (I know it doesn't cover the RoissyBus). Do I need cash for the RoissyBus
To get to CdVincennes.....I assume that needs more than a regular metro ticket as it's so far out (I can't recall what zone...but it's the end of the line). Maybe that is what a T+ ticket covers?
Or is there some 'travelcard' like thing I should use that would be more cost efficient?

Thanks so much!

T+ is the standard one-trip Metro ticket that you can buy in a carnet/pack of 10: http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/r_61635/ticket-t/. That carnet is the best deal for most travelers. It does not cover RoissyBus or RER outside of Zone 1. Chateau de Vincennes is in Zone 2 but your ticket is still good on Metro (Line 1).

I would plan to use an ATM at the airport so that you can pay cash (about 11 euros) for whichever ticket you buy there. I did succeed in buying an RER ticket and a carnet with my debit card and PIN from a machine at CDG, but that's not always reliable.

All of the metro including where it goes slightly outside Paris uses the basic t+ ticket which is best purchased in groups of 10 for a discount (14 Euros) i.e. a carnet.

Travel on the RER outside Paris requires specific point to point tickets. The ticket connecting CDG and Paris costs 10 Euro and will take you from CDG to any metro stop in Paris. You exit the RER and re-enter the metro when you make the transfer. (RER travel is metered as each trip is charged a separate amount; there are no generic zone 5 tickets for example)

You spoke of "over 4 days or so".

If it is 4 or 5 days, and if it starts around a Sunday, a good choice could be a Navigo Decouverte.

For 4 days it begins to show a profit if you use it several times a day, for 5 days of use you may be ahead.
