I'll be traveling with my mom in mid-March so I'd like to book everything in advance to make it more relaxing and comfortable for her and I was hoping to book a TGV train from Nice to Paris on March 21 but can't seem to find any direct trains that day. I've searched everywhere and still can't find anything. All the other days there are direct trains. Could someone help me what the problem is? Thanks!
I found a French-language explanation on the SNCF website - due to reconstruction work there are no trains at all between Marseille and Nice on the weekend of 21/2 March, with no bus replacements either. I would recommend either changing your plans or flying, although I suspect that because of these works flights will be busier than usual and you may have to pay a lot.
Thanks for such a quick reply. I see that Air France flights are still relatively cheap, around 80 USD per person. It sucks that they are doing construction work. Is there any way they will change their working schedule? If we don't want to fly and still want to take the train, does anybody recommend any other train routes? Thank you.
Grab the affordable flight. There are no other practical train routes (DB schedules suggest 14 hours via Milan, which is also more expensive).
