Trains from CDG to Belgium

Hello All!

We will be traveling to Brugge, Belgium from Paris this fall. Our plane lands at CDG/Paris at 7:05 AM. We hope to take the train from the airport to Belgium.

I've searched RailEurope.com for trains. Their site only shows 2 departing trains from the airport heading that way. One at 12:19, one at 8 PM. We really don't relish the idea of spending 5 hours at the airport before catching a train after an overnight flight.

So I checked the Bahn.de site for the train schedules. There is a TGV train that leaves CDG at 10:39 AM going to Belgium with a connection to Brugge.

Is it reasonable to think we could actually make this train since we land at 7:05AM?

I have tried to book this train thru TGV but was not able to because of being in the States. Not an option thru their site.

This train doesn't show up on the RailEurope site. Is it a seasonal train? We would really like to lock in a cheaper fare by getting our tickets now rather than the day of travel. BUT we also don't want to spend extra time waiting at the airport.

Help!! Ideas? Suggestions?

Kris

Try booking it on https://www.thetrainline.com/?redirected=true
But you say this fall how far in advance are you trying to book this? Trust me there are more option than what you are currently seeing. Maybe you are searching too early.
You should wait til you know that your flight is actually going to arrive on time before you book this train ticket.
Airlines will sometimes change your flight schedule months in advance.
You can either do that on your mobile at the boarding gate once you know the plane is not delayed or once you arrive.

It’s the French National trains that go from CDG to Brussels about every two hours. Try sncf.com or oui.sncf.com. The informative website, The Man in Seat 61, will tell you everything you need to know about booking your tickets. Your timing looks good, 7:05-10:39.
If fall tixs are not yet available, SNCF will let you sign up for an email alert when they go on sale.

Hey Jazz+

Thanks for responding.

We arrive on September 26. Maybe for some sites that's too early?

I took your suggestion and checked the Trainline.com site and they show 2 earlier trains to Brugge. YEAH!! Thanks!!

I also checked the price for the tickets at full price day of travel (July 7) just to get an idea of what it might be - just for comparison. It could be upwards of $120 more for the tickets day of travel.

We are still conflicted about the best plan of action. Buy them now and hope we arrive on time or wait and just spend the extra money.

Hey jwkms, I have gambled on advanced tickets and have won a lot more than lost so go for it. In this case do not use raileurope.com.

Rail Europe has the 10:39 train from CDG to Brussels currently for $49 per person in 2nd class on your travel date. It is too early to purchase the connection to Brugge; they're only selling about one month out on the Belgian site. That one doesn't have advance-purchase discounts, so you could just buy it in the train station,
