Travelers, in mid to late-May, the hubs and I will be taking regional TER trains in N. France between smaller cities (ex: Tours to Bayeux) which don't require an advance reservation--I've read that we can purchase same-day tickets at the station.
However, in leaving Rouen for Paris, I see in Trainline that there are choices for an SCNF train, or a TER "mini tempo" train. Can anyone explain the difference? For this short trip on a weekday, would an advance reservation be needed or recommended?
(Trains depart about every hour and appear similar, with minor cost and time differences.)
Thanks so much for your help after my diligent research has abandoned me!
