Train to Paris from CDG & Metro

Hello-
Our Paris/Normandy trip is coming up. We are family of 3 flying into CDG from Latvia on a Friday evening. Do I need to purchase train tickets from CDG to Paris in advance or is that something we can do upon arrival? Online train info for France and Paris is a little confusing.

Also, since we have three nights in Paris, is there a public transport ticket option to purchase at the airport? I would like to reduce the number of times we buy tickets. We will be staying in the 6th Arondisement near Vaneau Metro. We will be picking up a rental in the Montrouge area. Not sure if Zones matter with tickets. Last visit to France was in 2013.

Thanks in advance.

Tickets from CDG via the RER B and connecting to any RER/métro station cost 11.80€. Tickets may be purchased at either of the CDG RER stations.

For travel around Paris, consider purchasing a reusable Navigo Easy card (2€) and load tickets t+, 2.15€ each or 10 for 17.35€ Each traveler must have his own card. There are also individual paper tickets t+ available at 2.15€.

The ticket t+ may be used on the bus (other than airport buses), tramway, métro, or funicular. Keep your current ticket with you until exiting the transportation network. You may also use the ticket t+ on the RER, limited to stations within Paris only.

parisbytrain.com is also a great resource for exactly how to ride the trains, photos from the terminal to T2/Train station, etc.
