train to normandy

I want to take the train from Paris to Normandy on Saturday August 12th. Looking at the schedule, it seems there is no high speed direct train that particular Saturday, just the 4.5 hr train with 2 stops. Previous replies to my inquiries confirmed this, tho neither they nor I can find notification of repair or maintenance on the train that day.

So my question is, is there any other mode of transportation from Paris to Bayeux on Saturday August 12th. The 0800 train has disappeared off the schedule also this week, leaving on the schedule only a 12 hr train at 0600 and the 4.5 hr train at 1100, reaching Bayeux at 1533. I had plans in Bayeux for the afternoon and evening and tours booked for Sunday the 13th so I have no other dates available to travel.
Is there any other way to get to Bayeux from Paris on 8/12/17?
Thank you

There are never any high-speed trains to Bayeux, Intercities trains at the best. There appears to be a lot of track work going on in August, especially on weekends. Look at taking the Ouibus, leaves Bercy at 5:45 and Jules Verne bus station near La Defense at 6:30 to Caen, then local bus to Bayeux.

still trying to book this train reservation. When I go to sncf and book the reservation for Aug 12th there is a 4 hour (2 stop ) train at 11 am from Paris, arriving Bayeus at 1533. and a return train Aug 14, leaving Bayeux at 1835 returning to Paris. I complete the reservation process for 7 passengers and when the basket pops up to complete the purchase the outbound train on Aug 12 says there is a proble with my seat assignment, states "withouts reservation". On the contrary, the return bound train states "reservation" and "seats"
Please help! Why is there no reservation for the outbound train even when it is in my "basket" for purchase? How do I get train tickets for Saturday Aug 12 for 7 people? I cant seem to make this purchase work! Thanks

I cannot take an early bus. Traveling with a group (7 , 2 of them children) to Bayeux, checking out of our airbnb on saturday morning , as 3 others of our party depart for Germany. I will need time in the morning . I had originally been looking at a 9am 2hr 30 min train but it doesnt seem to be there on the schedule anymore. And when I try to book that 11 am train (4.5 hr with 2 stops) for 7 people, the purchase basket states there is a problem with my seat, "no reservation" , yet I can complete the purchase if I choose (which I didnt complete)

The train connection you are looking at are all TER trains which do not offer reservations. Think commuter trains. You just buy tickets and get on. If there are no seats left, you stand until something opens up. The trip is to Rouen, then a 47 minute wait for a train to Caen, then a 30 minute wait for a train to Bayeux.

Schedule options may or may not improve between now and your August travel date, but they won't get any worse and they don't need to be booked ahead, so I would not buy the tickets now. You may get more info later at http://www.sncf.com/fr/prevision-trafic but it only goes through June at this time.
