Train to Caen from Gare du Nord or Gare du Lazare?

I am confused…….which is the best train station to use if I want to train from Paris, after traveling on the Eurostar from London, to Caen? Thank you for your help….we will be picking up a rental car in Caen for the Normandy beaches in June 2023.

The Eurostar goes to Gare du Nord, and the train to Caen goes from Gare Saint-Lazare. You could go between stations by metro or cab.

There is no choice of train station -- there is no' best station' -- you go to the station that serves the region you are traveling to or from. The Eurostar arrives at Gare du Nord. Trains to Caen leave from Gare St. Lazare. You can get between the two on the RER E although awkwardly. Magenta station is attached to Gare du Nord and you get the E there to Hausmann St. Lazare -- a satelite station for St. Lazare. I'd do that rather than a cab because cross town cabs can be unpredictably slow.

The Metro is not the only connection between Gare du Nord and Gare St. Lazare. You have the option of the bus. Two bus stations where several lines stop are located right outside of Nord, one on Rue St Quentin near the "Le Jumbo " restaurant. The bus # 26 takes you to Gare St Lazare.

If you don't have too much luggage in tow, I would suggest the bus option. The bus has a "standing area" When I go to Gare St Lazare from Nord, (my hotel is there), I take the bus, much less crowded than the Metro.
