Train tickets in france

Hello, Im looking at the best option for a train ticket in France. Im only in Paris for two days and aside from getting to the hotel I only have one day of sight seeing.

Can I use the apps without a European number? Im Australian. I have however managed to download and set up the Bonjour RAPT app.

I only need a ticket from the airport then I will need to get a metro ticket to the hotel in Le Marais. Im very confused Ive read you cannot have a Metro and Airport ticket on the app at the same time. I will also be going to Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte: aside from that I dont really need any passes.

What are the easiest and cheapest options. Thank you for your help, this site has been amazing, Im very appreciative for the advice I have received.

A ticket from CDG to Paris is good to any Metro station in Paris, so you do not need to buy a separate ticket.
You don't say where in the Marais you are staying, but it looks like you take the RER B train to Chatelet/Les Halles then either the Metro Line 1 or Line 7 to your hotel. Chatelet/Les Halles is a bit of zoo of a station. Good luck.

Chatelet is a zoo and some transfers involve VERY long walks BUT all you have to do is follow the signs for the metro you are transferring to -- it is very well signed. And the airport ticket takes you from the airport to any RER or metro station in the Ile de France.

FWIW. your subject head implies long distance trains -- this is just local commuter transport.

You cannot setup an app account unless you are in the EU. For only a two day visit, I am not sure you really need one.

A simple solution would be to purchase a reusable Navigo Easy card (2€) and load the fare from CDG into Paris, 13€, which allows you to connect to any métro/RER station to reach your destination. You could then load as many métro/train/RER tickets (MTR @2.50€ each) or bus/tramway tickets (2€) as you think you may need.

The métro/train/RER ticket will take you anywhere in the Île de France which includes Vaux-le-Vicomte.

One thing to keep in mind if you are returning to any airport when you leave and you want to use public transportation; you cannot purchase an airport ticket, 13€, and load it onto an Easy card if the card contains any unused MTR tickets.
