There are a few tickets I feel we should get ahead of time. Lugano - Florence, Florence - Nice and Avignon - Geneva. That involves 3 different countries train systems. Would it be better to get them all from Rick? It may be more cost efficient using the individual sites, but quite the hassle.
No big hassle -- all national train systems have English options (click on the British flag)
No. This site is the most cost efficient, user friendly for organizing your train trips

Thank you! For some reason I did not get emails telling me that I had replies so I tried using Rick's site. I tried twice but the charge would not go through. Same using SNCF site. I ended up using
trenitalia for one and raileurope (same as Rick's, but it went through!) for the other two. Considering buying Nice to Avignon, but thinking that getting it in Nice a few days ahead should be ok. Any thoughts on that? I'll look into the trainline site. Thanks, again.
You can buy train tickets while there and there are plenty of departures if you don't care about locking in an advance-purchase discount.
Great! Thanks for the tip!
