Train Strike Status

Does anyone know the status of the rail strike in Paris. We leave the U.S. tonight and I have not been able to find any current news on the web since a day ago. Would appreciate any updates as soon as possible. Particularly interested in the train from CDG to Paris (I know the Roissy bus may be a better option) and train to Giverny from Paris.

Thank you!

It's still on. the RER B is not going to be a good option tomorrow.

For info, check the Infolignes link that I posted in a couple of other threads.

Trains to Vernon for Giverny are still affected too, but may not be as much trouble. Check the SNCF for the trains from Paris St Lazare to Rouen (Vernon is a stop on that line).

Remember that there are two RATP buses from the airport into Paris. The No.350 terminates at Gare de l'Est and the 351 ends at Place de la Nation. The fare is 3 tickets which you can buy from the driver. Have euros on hand.

The SNCF links posted earlier will also specifically address Paris-Vernon and vice versa. the few trains running during the strike are likely to be crowded. I would skip Giverny if things don't improve during your stay. Paris has so much else to see, without making it hard on yourself. You can go to the Orangery and just immerse yourself in paintings of the ponds.

Thanks for all the replies. We are currently in Paris and all is well even with the strike. The RER C to Versailles worked out great. I ended up taking a shuttle van arranged by our hotel to Giverny and glad I made the trip. And we used Super Shuttle for transport from CDG to Opera district. Very reasonable and even turned up timely after we were delayed 2.5 hours getting our bags at CDG on Sunday due to the Air France baggage handlers strike that day. Having a great time!
