We will be taking the tgv train from Colmar to Paris on Tuesday. What is the official name of the station where it arrives? We will probably take a taxi to our apartment. We are staying in the marias district and will need to get to cdg airport for a noon flight a week later. What is the best way to get there? Thank you in advance... everyone is so helpful on this forum!
You'll either come into Paris Est or Paris Lyon depending on which train you use. The two stations are pretty far apart.
Without a Marias street, there can't be a specific answer. Look at a metro map and hive out the easiest way to get to the RER B line and take it out to Roissy.
The TGV from Colmar which passes through Strasbourg goes to Gare de l'Est. Trains passing through Basel & Belfort require connecting local train from Colmar, go to Gare de Lyon. To CDG, there are many ways, bus from Gare de Lyon, or RER B from either Chatelet/Les Halles, or Gare du Nord. If you are taking a taxi from your apartment to the RER, Gare du Nord might be a bit easier to navigate than the underground maze at Chatelet/LH.
cisko,
The others have provided good information on the trains from Colmar to Paris. The two options I'd consider for travel to CDG are....
- RER "B"- this will be the cheapest option, and it's direct so also fairly quick (with no delays due to traffic). As previously mentioned, you'll have to get from your apartment to one of the stations on the RER line, such as Gare du Nord or Chatelet.
- Shuttle - You can pre-book a Shuttle with one of the many firms offering that service. I'd suggest checking Trip Advisor as some of them don't have a good reputation. Using a "shared shuttle" is fairly cheap also, but you'll be making many stops to pick up other passengers along the way. I usually get the hotel to book it for me the day prior to travel, and they've always used good, reliable services. The drivers are very good at plotting the most efficient route from the hotels they have to collect passengers from on each trip.
Bon Voyage!
On Thursday I gave this advice in your Colmar to Paris thread:
If the train you want to take is a TGV (either via Mulhouse into Gare de Lyon, or via Strasbourg into Gare de l'Est) and you have a railpass you MUST ASAP try and buy your seat reservations. This really must be ASAP. Really...
So did you buy your reservation into Gare de Lyon or Gare de l'Est?
That will be your answer.
