Taking a train from Paris CDG to Beaune, France. Do we need advance reservations?
If you use a TGV for part of the trip, and going from Paris to Beaune that is highly likely, yes. The Paris to Dijon leg is almost exclusively by TGV. Know that by "reserving" you are actually buying tickets.
There is like one TER train from Paris Gare de Lyon to Beaune in the mid afternoon. that does not need or take reservations and the price is always the same.
Hi - I think it’s more expensive the longer you wait, so the advantage to you is cost and seat selection. It was very easy to purchase from home for a future trip on the SNCF website, and I downloaded the app as well. We bought 1st class and chose reserved seats. There was a good selection two months in advance.
