Train question: Luggage rack on top deck also?

I would like to book the upper level of a TGV train. Is there a luggage rack on the upper level also? Or is the luggage rack only on the ground level? From Youtube videos I could see the storage space overhead is definitely not big enough for our carry-ons, and we do not want to be that far away from our luggage.

Yes, there is a luggage rack on the top deck as well. Depending on the train model, you have luggage racks at the ends of each car only, or at the ends of each car and in the middle. Newer models have fewer racks.
The overhead rack has space for a personal item, clothing, picnic bag, etc.

The upper level has luggage racks in each passenger car similar to the lower level. You also might be able to put bags on the floor between back-to-back seats if any are on your car.

Thank you both SO MUCH! I'm grabbing the upper deck for certain!

Yes, you're smart to book the upper deck. As others have said there are luggage racks on that level. Bags storage is much more secure there, especially if you sit opposite the rack where you can keep a close eye on yours. I once had a woman grab my bag off the rack on the lower level, I had to yell and yell at her before she looked and realized the bags had been shifted around and she didn't have her own. Now I'm really careful where I put my bag and where I sit.

Some people sitting in the upper level, drop their suitcases off on the lower level for convenience, the result being that the lower-level racks near the door fill while the upper -level racks have more free space.
