Train or Flight

I will be traveling from Barcelona to Paris at the end of May 2020. Trying to decide whether to take a train or plane given risk of strike interruptions. Last May/June revolving strikes impacted my trip traveling north to south and back again. Has anyone traveled by train from Barcelona to Paris? Time not a factor as long as I get there within a day (!) Thanks.

Did that trip on the TGV with 5 ladies in October 2016. It was lovely. Walked over to the station less than a 1/2 hour before the departure. Got on the train. Stowed our bags. We had picked up some baguettes sandwiches at a bakery, and bottled water and wine. We relaxed, walked to the dining car, used our tablets, read, ate our lunches. When we arrived in Barcelona, took a short subway ride to our lodging. We arrived in less time than it would have taken us than if we had to get out to CDG, fly and then get into Barcelona from the airport. If the TGV is running, it is only 6hrs 15 min.

We took the fast train last May from Barcelona 650 miles to Paris--6.5 hours. Just outside of Paris was the fastest section hitting 185 mph. It's the way to go from city center to city center.
You cannot worry about something you cannot do anything about--like strikes. There are always alternative modes of transportation.

Thanks David and Lynn-you convinced me! I much prefer train travel to flying. Train it is!
