Train in France on Saturday in May

Hi,
We just booked our France itinerary for May-June 2025.

We plan to travel from Paris to Avignon on Saturday, 31 May. However, I am struggling to find a train service between Paris and Avignon on that day. Is train service limited in France on Saturdays? Or am I too early trying to buy a ticket?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you can’t yet buy them at www.SNCF-connect.com then www.TheTrainline.com has your Paris to Avignon high-speed train tix for sale on Ouigo trains for as little as $28 for May 31. Ouigo is owned by SNCF— France’s national train company. SNCF contracts with the Trainline to sell its train tickets as do other national train companies throughout Europe.

Thanks for the quick response. The $28 ticket is that you saw is for 1 Jun. I got confused by it as well.

There's one departure to Avignon on 31 May at 1p but it's from Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy. That seems quite a bit from Paris 9th Arrond. which is where my hotel is.

Is that my best option or do more options open up later?

TIA.

If you look on a closer in date, say February or March you will see what a full service day looks like on a Saturday.
Look on the SNCF website, not the Train line website, week by week and find out where they are up to yet with open bookings. That will give you a good idea of how long you have to wait for.
Bluntly it is too early yet, probably by quite a way.

SNCF are the actual train operator. Train line are a 3rd party who don't have access to information the operator hasnt.

Everyone is correct that tickets for the end of May haven’t been released. Trainline doesn’t have a ticket in hand but is taking orders.
The OUIGO trains are the low-cost version of the TGV. They carry many more passengers, cars and engines are run 50% more per month than other TGVs, have fewer cleanings, and have no amenities.
May 31st is a Saturday of a four-day holiday weekend. When tickets are released, there will be high demand, so keep checking or even better, sign up for an SNCF account and you will be notified.
There will be many direct trains from Paris Gare de Lyon. You don’t have to travel to Marne-La-vallée.
