Hi everyone! I thought this would be simple, and probably it is, but I'm do confused. I will be staying near here https://maps.app.goo.gl/1bm3kkAn4wgLJLMn9?g_st=ac in the 8th arrondissement in Paris. We will leave Paris by train and head to Colmar. I had no idea Paris has more than one station? I tried googling names of stations near there, but i dont see those names in SNCF connect. Then when I type Colmar, there are different names too. Will any train savvy folks who have utilized the trains in France help me? I can enter the dates and time, just dont know what the heck the stations are.
Here's how to do this yourself.
After going to the link you provided, click DIRECTIONS. Add your destination and click the public transit button. You should see the list of possibilities.
This site is helpful, too.

Scroll down to see stations in Paris and the routes they serve.
All trains to Colmar will depart from Paris Gare de l’Est train station and go to Strasbourg first. You can first take a high-speed train taking 1:45 from Gare de l’Est and transfer to a local train completing the journey from Strasbourg to Colmar. That train will take about 30 minutes.
The high-speed trains can be booked at www.SNCF-connect.com.
Kenko's post is a victim of spell “check.” The name of the departure station in Paris is Gare de l'Est — probably shows in the app as PARIS EST
(Which means Paris East train station - for trains going to the east of Paris.)
Well thank you everyone!!
The Paris station for trains to Colmar is Paris Est (also known as Gare de l'Est), and that is how it is listed on SNCF Connect.
If you search for "Gare de l'Est" on Google Maps, you will get this result:

For reference, the other stations are:
Gare du Nord
Gare Saint-Lazare
Gare Montparnasse
Gare de Lyon
Gare d'Austerlitz
Gare de Bercy
You may not have to change trains at Strasbourg depending on what departure time you pick. I'm looking in to July and see 2 a day at 716A and 152P that are marked as "Direct" TGV trains. It does stop in Strasbourg but you don't get off there, you stay on. I looked because when I went to Colmar a few years ago I knew my train was direct so was just checking to see if there were still some that were that way.
The destination is what determines which Paris train station your train will leave from, most of the time. There are occasions where there are trains that come in to 2 different stations but generally one direction is serviced by one train station.
When you book a train on trainline.eu or Sncf you put your destination in and then Paris as your departure point -- the site will give you the correct station. You don't have to know the station. Some smaller destinations will have more than one station and you do probably need to know where you want to go. Different Paris stations serve different parts of France and Europe. As noted here -- Est serves Strasbourg.
To get to the station you can get the metro route on ratp.fr.
Thanks!! I appreciate all of the help!
