Is this a direct train or do you have to switch trains and stations in Paris?
You have to go thru Paris. The France rail system is rather like spokes coming out of Paris.
Actually, there are direct trains from Saint-Pierre-des-Corps (3 miles from Tours) to Strasbourg, at least twice a day. A much better choice, because the Paris transfer is a long one.
Balso, I stand corrected, thanks. However, looking at the routing, it takes about the same time as going through Paris. They look to be pricey tickets. From what I understand from John's previous post, he plans to rent a car. He wanted to go to Amboise to Strasbourg. Now it sounds like he wants to rent in Tours and then take a train to Strasbourg and rent again?
Edited to add, I now see that in Paris, you'd have to change stations. . .
