Train from Nice to Paris

Of course it is doable. People do it every day. Buy your tickets at www.sncf-connect.com in advance, the sooner the better.

The sooner you purchase train tickets the cheaper it is. Direct trains from the Nice Ville station to Paris Gare de Lyon take approximately 6h. The closer you get to the departure date more trains will be available. Buy tickets at least one month out if not sooner.
There’s also a direct overnight train from the Nice Ville station to Paris Austerlitz (approximately 12h). If you’re interested rent a sleeper car so you don’t have to waste a day traveling from Nice to Paris. These tickets won’t be available until two months before your departure date.

Funny story I took this train in April from Paris to Nice and they had the heaters on full blast, I had to strip down in the middle of the aisle.

One thing to note is that a good deal of the trip (due to the terrain along the coast), the TGV can not actually go at high speed. It only really becomes a fast train once it turns north at Marseille.

Still, a lovely ride - sit on the left-hand side of the train departing Nice for the best views along the Mediterranean.
