Google whether a train runs from MSM to Paris and you get conflicting information (from Rennes station via bus or regional train). Actually looked on SNCF Connect and it shows a TGV from Dol-de-Bretagne to Gare Montparnasse. What have others found or experienced? Thank you.

When I visited Mont Saint Michel from Paris, we took the TGV from Gare Montparnasse to Dol de Bretagne. There's a bus from Dol de Bretagne station to take you the rest of the way to Mont Saint Michel (and back).

The TGV only goes as far as Rennes and then it is a TER train from there to Dol-de-Bretagne. Both times I've gone to MSM I've taken a TGV train to Rennes from Montparnasse and rented a car there. It's about a 1-1/2 hour train and 2-hour drive and there's plenty of parking right by the Mont.

Just to confirm, the TGV does go all the way to Dol de Bretagne- I did this journey in 2019 and just checked that it is still possible, and I can see two direct trains from Montparnasse to Dol de Bretagne for tomorrow, operated by TGV inOui. Note for TGV you need to book in advance as they do get booked up.

Thank you, all. I looked closer at SNCF Connect. There’s a TGV direct once or twice a day from Dol de Bretagne to Paris, with stop in Rennes.
And there are several one-stop options from DDB with a change in trains in Rennes.
