I have managed to get our tickets from Paris to Loire Valley (St Pierre des Corps) for Sept 19. Now I’m trying for the train back on Sept 23. I thought there was a direct train to CDG but it seems the train goes from St Pierre to Montparnasse with transfer to another train and/or bus to get to CDG. And it’s a 3-hour trip. We are an older couple and looking for easier travel with some help with luggage. Should I just take a train to Montparnasse and then a taxi to the airport? Also, trying to use SNCF connect and can’t get any date beyond today for ticketing.

I am seeing a direct train at 7:55 am, arriving at CDG at 9:41 am. Another one at 2:56 pm. and one at 6:56 pm.

If you can't see the trains Sam has referenced, or purchase tickets, try thetrainline.com.
The 7:55am train is $79.20, the 2:56pm train is $87.70, and the 6:56pm train is $23.15
(this is on Ouigo), on trainline. I also see these trains and prices on SNCF Connect, and
I can get all the way to the payment screen. So I suspect you're having some sort of
browser issue. Clear your cookies and cache, have a cup of coffee, and try again.
