We are flying into Paris late June and were hoping to go straight to Reims and stay the night, before we pick up a car perhaps and begin our travel around the area. We will possibly get the fast train back from Strasbourg afterwards.
i have been trying to find out if we have to leave the airport and get ourselves to Gare de l'est? or if we can leave from Charles de Gaulle.
Would appreciate any helpful suggestions from people.
Thanks very much.
If you were to use the sncf.com website and check, you would find that one can go directly from CDG's TGV station to Reims' central train station. I think most trips would include a transfer, or at least a stop, at the Champagne-Ardennes TGV station outside Reims. I'm seeing 4 trains per day, departing at 1108, 1245, 1659, and 1858.
I don't think there are any TGV services direct from the airport to Rheims, but TGV services at Champagne-Ardennes have connecting trains, and there is also a streetcar service from the station to central Rheims that you can use if you miss the train or it is more convenient for your hotel.
I am seeing several weekday direct trains (no transfers required) taking about a half hour, at 10, 11:10, and 12:45.
That's right now. I think it is very likely these trains will also run in June, but that is not guaranteed.
Thanks for your answers.i thought the plane was landing at CDG but it is Orly so as I haven't booked yet, have been advised by others to take the train from Amsterdam and then get to Gare est for the train to Reins,
Thanks, it'll be a help for next time!
