Is there a more direct route here than having to go through two transfers? I’m posting this for a friend - she and her husband will be there on Sept. 27 with the flight arriving at 12:50. Thanks for any help- I don’t have my laptop so I can’t do a good search.
Probably not. They can either take a taxi into Gare d'Austerlitz and get the train there, or TGV to St Pierre des Corps from CdG and then backtrack to Blois
I would opt for a taxi to Austerlitz station in Paris (58€) followed by train to Blois. The extra cost of the taxi is partly offset by the cheaper ticket prices on the Austerlitz route. Public transport is possible, but involves transfers.
Some trains to Blois require a transfer in Orleans, but that is very manageable - smallish station, no stairs. Otherwise there is a direct train at 5.37 PM, arrival 7.00 PM, price only 15€ (non-cancellable bought in advance) or 30€ (same-day full fare) in 2nd class.
Thank you both for the information and ideas! I have passed it on to my friend and I think they will opt for the taxi to Austerlitz and then the train to Blois (they booked the €15 fares). They are older although still active (they are doing a bike trip through the Loire Valley) and would like to keep things as simple as possible.
