Train from CDG airport to Loire Valley

I am interested in taking a train from CDG airport to the Loire Valley. I read Saint-Pierre is a good station to consider.

Are there direct trains from the airport to the Loire Valley?

I'd like to find the most direct route. My husband has some mobility issues and I'd like to minimize the number of changes and amount of walking.

Thank you

The high-speed TGV trains from CDG to the St-Pierre-des-Corps train station near Amboise take less than two hours.

That is the station you want if going to the Loire Valley from CDG.

In 2024, we took the train directly from CDG to St-Pierre-des-Corps and then changed trains, after a short wait, to get to Amboise. It was very easy. We used public transit for our trip but I suspect you are planning to rent a car given your husband's mobility issues and can certainly do so from St-Pierre-des-Corps, in my understanding. You should have no trouble finding direct trains from CDG to St-Pierre-des-Corps on the SNCF website or app. Good luck!

St Pierre des Corps is the TGV station for Tours, which is the transportation hub of the Loire Valley. There are usually trains from CDG to St Pierre des Corps, but these require reservations. Exactly which train you may want to reserve, after an all night transatlantic flight is always a question. Many people suggest booking nothing sooner than 3 hours after your scheduled CDG arrival to account for the many unknowns of flights, immigration, and luggage delays.

Another strategy is to go into Paris and take a TER train from Gare Austerlitz to the Loire Valley. These trains offer more options, cost less, and may get you to your destination a great deal faster.

It all depends upon your CDG arrival and your Loire Valley destination. I would check the train schedules:

Keep in mind that the Loire River is a very long river. Consequently the Loire Valley is a large area.
