train from Bordeaux to St. Emilion

Does anyone know if there is a train from Bordeaux to St. Emilion? I've read that you can take the train to Bergerac and that it makes a stop in St. Emilion and arrives there in about 35 minutes. The only train I've found on the train site is one where you go by train part way and then transfer to a bus. Thanks for any help you can give!

yeah and don't ever take what you read as gospel;
there is a train but you are trying to find or buy a ticket more than 3 months in advance when it is not published online yet; not even Amtrak in the USA sells tickets that far in advance for example

Actually there is no need to book this in advance since it is frequent short train route only 35 minutes Just buy it the day when you show up at Bordeaux ,St. Jean train station.

The price is fixed no reservations needed.

You can get idea of typical schedule at thetrainline.com

The schedules are published, at least up to June, but you can't buy tickets yet. And as the others say you don't need to.
You can look up times here: https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml

P.S. where do you mean by "the train site", where are you looking?

By "the train site" I was referring to a number of sites on the internet, including Trainline, Rail Europe, and Go Euro.

Thank you for your response to my question.

"Trainline, Rail Europe, and Go Euro." - those are all resellers, and often only list trains they sell tickets for. And if the tickets are not yet available, it will display "nothing found" even if the times have been decided.

Saint-Emilion station is about a mile from the town, and it's an uphill walk on a main road with grass verges and no sidewalks. OK if you are able to walk well, but not recommended if you aren't agile.

Thanks for the head's up about the distance! Actually, we're planning to rent a car at the St. Emilion train station since we'll have luggage and be staying in the area for a few days. The walk wouldn't have been a problem, but it would have been awkward with luggage and no sidewalks.

Took the train from the station at St. Emilion to the station in Bourdeaux in the summer of 2017. It is an easy and quick trip. To get from the station into St. Emilion you will need to take a tuk tuk. I remember seeing a sign at the train station with a telephone number to call. There were no rental cars at the station.

Have you specifically seen that you can rent a car at St Emilion station? I was there a couple of years ago, but I remember it as simply a platform and a small station building by a grade crossing in the middle of vineyards.

If you're going to rent a car, I'd do so in Bordeaux.

Thank you, Philip. Actually, we are not renting a car in St. Emilion. You are right, there do not appear to be any rentals in St. Emilion.
