Train from Bayeux to Bordeaux

Please help.
We're hoping to travel to France by public transportation.
After visiting Normandy, we need to take the train from Bayeux to Bordeaux.
Will have to go to St Lazare train station & transfer by Metro to Gare Montparnasse for TGV to Bordeaux.
I'm concerned with carryon up & down the Metro stairs. Can anyone pls advice if there's escalator or elevators in these
stations? Or other options? We're 2 adventurous seniors staying for a month.

Appreciate any advice.Thanks.

You have to go back to Paris Gare Montparnasse to get the rail line to Bordeaux
If you have trouble with stairs I would not try to take the metro from St Lazare to Gare Montparnasse, take a taxi.
There was some construction at Montparnasse Bienvenue metro station to modernize it but not sure it is finished.

Not sure how to route it through SNCF, but there is a way going Bayeux to Caen to St Pierre des Corps to Bordeaux, departing 8:34, arriving 2:52 pm in Bordeaux.

Sam has a point. This may be better. You would not have to go back to Paris.
You would take a train to Caen. 15 minutes
Then at Caen there is an IC train direct to St Pierre Des Corps in the 10:00 hour and the 12:00 hour, or every 2 hours.
At St Pierre Des Corps you would get the TGV to Bordeaux.

The problem is that SNCF website does not sell a ticket that way. You would have to buy each leg separately.

St Pierre des Corps is the TGV station just outside of Tours.

Alternatively, if you leave yourself a bit more time, you can get a bus from Saint Lazare to Montparnasse. Routes 94 or 95 link the two stations by different routes. The buses are low-entrance, but be careful nobody makes off with your luggage.

found it thru Loco 2. com
St Pierre to Bordeaux. much easier. cheap too. is it OK to purchase through then?
After Normandy. we'll be traveling to Bordeaux. Sarlat.Toulouse. Carcassonne. Avignon. Lyon.then home. relaying on trains.buses.or tours.
doing day trips. visiting villages. vineyards. Is this doable? a month in September. or too ambitious?
kindly comment. need to do bookings soon. thank you .

Yes - loco2.com is a safe site for buying train tickets.

I had wanted to travel by train from Bayeux to Bordeaux, but gave up on the idea because I didn't want to backtrack through Paris. Glad to know that it can be done.

good question. ...why not?

I think..Bordeaux is a beautiful city. lots of things to do. vineyards. etc. easy access to public transportation. wanted to visit friends in Montignac. that's why Sarlat. & St Emillion.
Might go to Biarritz & San Sebastian?

Not a good idea? please tell...
We're still in the planning stage.
thank you.
