Train: Brussels aeroport to Brussels midi to Lille

Hi,
Trains in Euro have always been a challenge, and I may be trying to absorb too much info. I'm arriving at Brussels aero on an international flight at 12:45pm. Then I want to head directly to Lille, France on one of the direct routes (see below).

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated:
1. It doesn't make sense to buy tickets in advance, given potential flight delays.
2. Assuming train from Brussels airport to Brussels-Midi is fairly straight forward and there will be kiosks or ticket windows at the airport.
3. Is it possible to buy Brussels Midi to Lille France ticket (TGV or Eurostar) at the airport?
4. Anything special about procedures or lead time regarding TGV or Eurostar at Brussels-Midi?
Again, thank you for any helpful info you can provide.

  1. Only buy if you know for sure that you will be there in time to catch the train. However I have gambled when the ticket was greatly discounted if you buy in advance. I have lost money when the plane did not arrive in time to catch the train.
  2. Yep. And there are machines and live people also. The machines take cash or charge
  3. Yep. The Kiosk works like the online site in that it allows for you to buy tickets for other trains originating at different stations.
  4. Not really. It will say on the ticket.
