Towns in Burgundy on/near train line interesting to a teen?

Hi there, I'm working on a 3 week trip in June 24 with my 17 year old daughter (France, Switzerland, Italy). We can have a week in France before heading via train to Gimmelwald area for some great hiking, I'm thinking of going via Montreaux to Interlaken so we can get the Golden Pass Scenic Route. I know it will be a long train ride.

My question - We will start our trip in Paris. I was going to do 5 days there and 2 days somewhere else. I'd originally thought Bayeux but now thinking that's bad planning to head west when we ultimately need to head east -disappointing not to see Bayeux but it would add yet another 2 hours to an already long train trip. So, we could leave Paris and hit a scenic town in Burgundy area more or less along the train route - Lyon, Dijon, Beaune? Activities could include e-bike tours, canals, hot air balloon? Wine is just not gonna be her interest, although the landscapes, yes. Would welcome your thoughts here. Enough to interest a teen who wants to absorb the essence of French countryside? Thank you all so much.

Burgundy is very rural. Trains are primarily going to stop in larger towns: Auxcerre, Dijon, or Beaune. I cannot imagine what a 17-year-old would find of interest. You could have your child peruse the websites of the Office de Tourisme for each of these towns, but I cannot image what might possible appeal to a teenager.

I think Lyon is where we will stop for two nights, lots of interesting things to do it looks like.
