Tours Saint Pierre des Corps transfer

Hello.

Do you know the time it takes to transfer from a TGV train to a local train at the St. Pierre des Corps station? If there is a link to a platform map, that would be very helpful! We are pretty quick movers and are trying to limit our wait time.

Thank you.

Never been there, but I found this.... It is served by the TGV, Intercites, Interloire, TER Centre-Val de Loire and Inter-gares Shuttles and is on the train line Paris-Austerlitz <=> Bordeaux-Saint-Jean and Vierzon <=> Saint-Pierre-des-Corps with 4 (plus through lines and sidings) tracks and 2 central platforms.

So I would give yourself probably 5 minutes walking really slow if you are far away from the stairs/escalators/elevators that help you change platforms if your first train is on time, but the hope is that the train actually IS on time. If you're running (because you are late) I would bet you could do it in 3 min or less.

Which trains and which tracks specifically? So many station transfer ninjas on these forums you'll be able to get a really clear answer :)

As long as you are looking into the details, please make sure you are getting a local train from St. Pierre des Corps (as you wrote) and not (perhaps?) from the Tours station. The two are not in the exact same place.

Your post made me think about some train trips I need to research for October. In looking for a station map on the SNCF website, I found the app Ma Gare which I just downloaded. It does not seem to be offered in English, just French but there are station maps which I think can be figured out with just a little French knowledge.

Thank you for your speedy responses. I'm not sure of the platforms yet but it will be arriving TGV from CDG airport to St Pierre des Corps and leaving from St Pierre des Corps to Blois.

Oh- great! I'm hoping I can get the platform numbers before we get there so we can be better prepared. We will only have 5 minutes but there is a later train in 25 minutes.
Thank you for your help everyone!

There are only 2 island platforms at St Pierre des Corps, with a Track on either side, 4 Tracks total. So at worst, you will have to go downstairs to the underpassage and walk about 50 ft and and up to the other platform. Should take about 2 minutes.

St Pierre des Corps is as folks are describing. Quite small. Have you ever checked out the free Google translate app for your phone? It has the option to employ your camera and hold it over text and it translates immediately. You need wifi so at home you'll have no problem. Sometimes it's faster for me to translate this way. I move my phone along and read the translation.
