Tour of Luberon from Aix in March

I am looking for a one day private or small group tour of some of the Luberon villages departing from Aix en Provence in late March 2025. I have contacted the guides/agencies recommended in the RS Provence handbook but either get no response or am told they no longer conduct Luberon tours. I have found some tours from Avignon but nothing from Aix. As a last resort our group of 4 adults would consider renting a car in Aix and driving ourselves but am unsure how driving in the Luberon would be. I would appreciate any advice on where to find a guide or whether to undertake a self-driving tour. Thank you

Aix has a wonderful tourist information center. Have you contacted them? I don't know the address, but am sure you could google and find it.

My husband and I rented a car the three weeks that we were in Aix. We drove to Bonnieux, Gordes, Lourmarin, Menerbes, and the Gorges du Verdon in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region several times. The drives were quite easy the end of February and the first two weeks of March the year we were there. The two-lane roads had little traffic and it was easy to find parking spaces in the villages. We stayed in a house in Aix that was just outside the town which had its own driveway. We did not have to drive in Aix, and it was easy to drive out to the main roads to get to the villages.
If you've not been before, the Luberon villages were amongst my favorites. The village of Menerbes is where Peter Mayle moved to and wrote about his home there in My Year in Provence.

Check out the Aix Office de Tourisme website: https://www.aixenprovencetourism.com/en/ You could potentially find a guide or small group tour there for a day-trip to the Luberon.

I have a second home in Bonnieux, one of the beautiful villages on the north side of the Luberon mountain. To make the best use of your time if you have just a day, I would try to organize a private tour for the four of you or join a small group tour.

You can book these small group tours online through the Tourist Office: https://booking.aixenprovencetourism.com/excursions-luberon.html And there are lots of other resources there that would be helpful for your time in Aix.

The Luberon is beautiful and interesting... and there's a wonderful way of life there. Come back and stay a week or more.
